4 seater sofa sizes and prices

Our 15 four-seaters are 235, 240 or 290 cm long, and most are 240 cm. They range from 80 to 90 cm deep and 65 to 85 cm high, so compare the length with your wall and the depth with the space in front of it.

These are overall measurements, which include the arms. As each M&H sofa is handmade, finished dimensions may vary slightly from the stated measurements as a result of normal manufacturing tolerances.

Amelia and Clara are the shortest at 235 cm, and Majestic and Scarlet the longest at 290 cm. Chelsea Line is the lowest, at 65 cm high with a 40 cm seat, and MH Theo the tallest at 85 cm.

Is a 4 seater sofa right for your room?

A four-seater puts all the seating on one straight sofa, so it suits a long wall or an open-plan room where one long sofa can divide the space. Check its full length against doors, radiators and the paths people take through the room.

If four people will rarely sit on it together, the 3 seater in the same design is shorter and costs less.

3 seater or 4 seater?

Compare within one design first. Moving from the 3 seater to the 4 seater adds 40 cm on 13 of the 15 designs. Majestic and Scarlet add 61 cm, because their 3 seaters are 229 cm and their 4 seaters 290 cm.

Depth, overall height and seat height stay the same between the 3 and 4 seater in a design, so the choice comes down to length and price. Charlotte, for example, is 80 cm deep and 80 cm high in both sizes.

Measure the room and delivery route

Mark the footprint where the sofa will sit, then measure the delivery route at its narrowest points, including the front door, hallways, stair turns, landings, lifts and the doorway into the room. Measure each doorway with the door fully open.

Depth and height are important when checking a doorway, while the extra length of a four-seater can make tight turns, landings and stairs harder to negotiate. If a smaller sofa from the same design has already been delivered to your home, the depth and height will match, but check the turns again for the longer frame.

Fabrics and colours by design

Seven of these designs come in all six of our fabrics, Plush Velvet, Teddy/Bouclé, Jumbo Cord, Chenille, Naple and Conistan, across 54 colours. They are Clara, MH Luxury, Romeo, Oliver, Aaron, Chelsea Line and Majestic.

The other eight come in Plush Velvet, Chenille, Naple and Conistan, across 44 colours. Check the fabric list on each product page before you choose.

Colour and texture look different under your own lighting, so order free fabric swatches and compare them where the sofa will sit.

Matching 2 and 3 seaters, L shapes and corners

All 15 designs are also made as a 2 seater and a 3 seater in the same fabrics, with the same depth and seat height. A four-seater and a matching 2 seater from one design will look like a set and sit at the same height.

Each design also comes as an L shape sofa and a corner sofa. If your room is squarer than it is long, a corner seats people along two walls instead of one, which can help where a 240 cm run would block a doorway or radiator.

Every four-seater on this page is handmade to order at our Yorkshire workshop. All 15 currently have a lead time of 21 to 25 days, and delivery to mainland UK is free.
