M&H Living Sofa Warranty

Eligible M&H Living sofas are covered by a 10-year warranty on the internal frame against manufacturing defects and structural faults arising under normal domestic use.

The 10-year warranty applies specifically to the internal structural frame. It is not a 10-year warranty covering every part, material or component of the sofa.

This commercial warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights and does not remove or restrict those rights.

What Does the 10-Year Frame Warranty Cover?

The warranty covers manufacturing defects and structural faults affecting the internal frame of an eligible M&H sofa during normal domestic use.

A covered claim must relate to the structure or manufacture of the internal frame rather than ordinary wear, accidental damage or damage caused after delivery through misuse or improper handling.

Frame warranty means frame warranty. Cushions, fillings, upholstery, coverings, electrical components and sofa mechanisms should not be described as receiving the same 10-year commercial warranty.

What Is Not Covered by the 10-Year Frame Warranty?

The following are outside the scope of the 10-year internal-frame commercial warranty:

  • Cushions
  • Cushion fillings
  • Upholstery fabrics
  • External coverings
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by misuse
  • Forced or intentional damage
  • Accidental impact or accidental damage
  • Damage caused by improper handling
  • Damage resulting from inadequate maintenance
  • Electrical components
  • Sofa mechanisms

These are exclusions from the M&H commercial frame warranty. They do not remove any statutory rights that may apply if goods are faulty, not as described or otherwise fail to meet legal requirements.

Electrical Components and Sofa Mechanisms

Electrical components and sofa mechanisms are not included in the M&H 10-year frame warranty and do not carry a separate M&H commercial warranty.

If an electrical component or mechanism is reported as faulty, contact M&H with the order details and evidence of the issue so the matter can be reviewed separately from the 10-year frame warranty.

The absence of a commercial warranty for a mechanism or electrical component does not remove statutory consumer rights that may apply to a faulty product or component.

How Is a Warranty Fault Assessed?

M&H may review photographs, video, purchase details and other information relating to the reported fault before deciding whether it falls within the commercial frame warranty.

Where further assessment is required, M&H may ask for the sofa or affected part to be inspected.

The assessment may consider:

  • The location and nature of the reported damage or structural fault.
  • Whether the issue is consistent with a manufacturing or structural defect.
  • Whether there is evidence of misuse, accidental impact, improper handling or intentional damage.
  • Whether normal wear or inadequate maintenance is relevant to the reported problem.

M&H may request further evidence where the information initially supplied is not enough to determine whether the claim is covered.

What Happens if a Frame Warranty Claim Is Accepted?

If M&H confirms that the reported issue is a manufacturing defect or structural fault covered by the 10-year frame warranty, the affected covered part will be replaced.

A fault affecting one covered part does not automatically mean the complete sofa will be replaced.

M&H will identify the relevant covered part after reviewing the evidence and any inspection needed to assess the claim.

Warranty replacement and a full product return are different remedies. An accepted commercial frame-warranty claim normally concerns the affected covered part rather than automatic replacement of the entire sofa.

30-Day Fault Resolution vs the 10-Year Frame Warranty

The M&H Return and Refund Policy and the 10-year frame warranty apply to different situations.

Under the applicable 30-day policy, an eligible product that is damaged on delivery, not as described or affected by a manufacturing fault may be reviewed for an appropriate resolution. Depending on the circumstances, that resolution may include repair, replacement or an approved return.

The 10-year commercial warranty is narrower. It applies to covered manufacturing or structural faults affecting the internal sofa frame under normal domestic use.

Read the M&H Return and Refund Policy

What if the Sofa Arrives Damaged or Faulty?

Damage identified on delivery or during initial inspection should be reported to M&H with supporting evidence.

This type of issue may fall under the Return and Refund Policy rather than being handled solely as a long-term frame-warranty claim. M&H will review the reported issue and determine the appropriate process based on the circumstances.

How Do You Make a Warranty Claim?

Contact M&H Living and provide enough information for the team to identify the purchase and assess the reported issue.

  1. Provide your order number or other purchase details.
  2. Provide the sofa model and identify the affected part.
  3. Describe the reported fault and when it was first noticed.
  4. Supply clear photographs or video where requested.
  5. Provide any further information requested as part of the assessment.
  6. Follow M&H instructions if an inspection or shipment of the affected part is required.

Do not send a sofa or component to M&H until the team has reviewed the initial claim and provided instructions.

Who Pays Shipping Costs During a Warranty Claim?

Under the M&H commercial warranty, the customer is responsible for the applicable shipment or return cost where the sofa or affected part must be sent as part of the warranty assessment or replacement process.

M&H will advise what needs to be sent after reviewing the claim.

This term applies to the commercial warranty and does not override any statutory consumer right under which M&H may legally be responsible for a particular cost.

When Can a Warranty Claim Be Declined?

A claim may fall outside the 10-year commercial frame warranty where the reported issue is not a manufacturing or structural frame defect, or where the evidence indicates that the damage was caused by an excluded circumstance.

Examples include misuse, accidental impact, improper handling, intentional or forced damage, inadequate maintenance and normal wear over time.

A claim is assessed against the condition and circumstances of the reported issue rather than being accepted solely because it was made within the 10-year period.

Your Statutory Consumer Rights

The M&H 10-year frame warranty is an additional commercial warranty. It does not replace or reduce your statutory consumer rights.

A component being excluded from the commercial frame warranty does not automatically mean that a customer has no rights where that component is faulty.

Where a customer reports a fault, commercial-warranty eligibility and statutory consumer rights should be considered separately.
