Compare the Seven MH Theo Sofas

The main difference between the Theo configurations is the space they occupy. The straight sofas increase in length while retaining the same published depth, height and seat height. The 3+2 gives you two separate sofas, while the L Shape and Corner use two-sided footprints.

The 3+2 figures describe two independent sofas rather than one continuous room footprint.

As each M&H sofa is handmade, finished dimensions may vary slightly from the published measurements as a result of normal manufacturing tolerances.

80cm Overall Depth Across the Theo Range

Overall depth is one of the most useful differences between Theo and many other M&H ranges. Across the current M&H 2 Seater catalogue, 18 of 21 ranges are published at 90 cm deep. Theo is one of the ranges published at 80 cm overall depth.

That difference changes how far the sofa projects into the room. It does not, however, create a guaranteed doorway requirement. Finished sofa depth and delivery access are different measurements.

Straight Theo Sofas and the 3+2 Set

The four straight Theo sofas progress from 105 cm for the 1 Seater to 170 cm, 200 cm and 240 cm for the 2, 3 and 4 Seater versions.

The 2 Seater therefore uses 70 cm less wall length than the 4 Seater. The 3+2 Set combines the 200 cm 3 Seater with the 170 cm 2 Seater as two separate pieces rather than one 370 cm sofa.

This distinction matters when the two sofas will sit on different walls or in different parts of the room.

Theo Corner or Theo L Shape?

The two shaped Theo configurations use the room differently. The Corner Sofa has a published 240 × 240 cm footprint, giving it equal runs on both sides.

The L Shape Sofa measures 250 × 180 cm, so one run is longer and the return is shorter. Compare both axes with the available floor space rather than choosing between them from overall width alone.

Check the Access Route Separately

An 80 cm overall sofa depth does not mean that an 80 cm doorway is sufficient. The way a sofa moves through a property also depends on the usable clear opening, hallway width, turns, stairs, landings and lifts.

M&H does not currently publish a minimum clear-opening width, diagonal depth or complete packed dimensions for every Theo configuration.

If access looks close, send M&H the Theo model and your access measurements before ordering so the route can be considered separately from the finished room footprint.

Four Theo Upholstery Choices

The standard MH Theo range is offered in Plush Velvet, Chenille, Naple and Conistan.

These are upholstery families rather than performance ratings. M&H does not currently publish enough verified Theo-specific evidence to make collection-wide claims about stain resistance, pet suitability, Martindale performance, fibre composition or cleaning method.

Colour and surface texture can also look different under your own lighting, so order fabric swatches before choosing the final upholstery.

Made to Order at Our Yorkshire Workshop

A standard Theo sofa is made after the order is placed. Choosing a configuration, fabric or colour already offered on the website remains a standard made-to-order purchase rather than a bespoke sofa.

Contact M&H if you require a different sofa length or a fabric outside the standard offered range.

Current production and delivery information should be checked on the individual Theo product page rather than treated as one permanent timing across the collection.

M&H also provides a 10-year commercial warranty on the internal frame, subject to the current warranty terms and claim assessment. For an accepted covered claim, the remedy applies to the affected covered part rather than automatically replacing the complete sofa.

MH Theo Sofa Questions

Is the Theo 1 Seater an Armchair?

M&H lists it as the MH Theo 1 Seater Sofa. It is the single-seat member of the Theo sofa range rather than a separately classified armchair.

Is the Theo 3+2 One Sofa?

No. The set contains a 200 cm Theo 3 Seater and a 170 cm Theo 2 Seater. They remain two separate sofas and can be positioned independently.

Can I Order a Different Theo Sofa Length?

Yes. Contact M&H if you require a different sofa length or a fabric outside the standard offered range. Website-selectable Theo sizes, fabrics and colours remain standard made-to-order options.
